Description: Meet Sam Johnson, owner of SAMCO Manufacturing, based in Lizton, Indiana. SAMCO makes parts for racecars on the Haas machine he set up in his home. Originally from central Illinois, Sam moved to Brownsburg, Indiana for an apprentice internship position at Competition Suspension. Sam enjoyed the experience and decided he wanted to build a career designing and making parts for racing. After his time with Competition Suspension, he accepted an opportunity to be the lead engineer at Don Schumacher Racing, manufacturing all the parts for their motorsports division. After that, Sam was hooked on making racecar parts. In this humble garage setup, SAMCO Manufacturing is machining parts that are going on pump jacks for use by NASCAR teams. SAMCO primarily designs parts and programs machines using Autodesk Fusion 360. SAMCO makes parts for many of the most well-known motorsports sanctioning bodies, including World of Outlaws, the National Hot Rod Association, NASCAR, and IndyCar, among others. Room and power are a limiting factor in the current SAMCO Manufacturing setup, so Sam is proud to announce that they will be moving into a commercial setup nearby.
